The quad was rebuilt from a pilot error crash in early Dec13 and upgraded to 3.1 firmware. With a previous parameter file loaded, auto-tune was very quick. Average wind strength during the test was 18-20 Knots with gusts up to 25 Knots. There was turbulence in the area of the launch due to the proximity of the hangers. Testing the X525 Quad with APM2.5 after a rebuild and update to ArduCopter 3.1 Quite a windy day with 10-12 Knot gusts - Quad appears to have coped well. Filmed with a GoPro 2 on a fixed plate with a "MoonGel" anti-vibration mount. Still a little Jello.

in preparation for the annual club and international RC model glider meetings, I needed to test some additional fixed and mobile cameras to add variety and depth to the videos I put up on UA-cam. This is some of the footage. The Tug and glider are about 3 meter wingspan. Aero-towing using powered models is how we get the gliders into the air.

Just wondering, my multirotor will hold it's altitude, without any throttle input, in PosHold but switching to Drift the multirotor changes altitude. Then flying I'm having to adjust throttle position, much more than when flying in PosHold mode. I'm using a Pixhawk Cube with GPS. Also, Compass 2 requires setup. I just cant calibrate it. Not sure why.

Hi, wenn ihr euch wie ich für das Fliegen interessiert, dann schaut doch einfach mal bei meinem Kanal vorbei. Ich bin 15, Segelflieger, fliege alleine und ihr könnt auf meinem Kanal jedes Wochenende viele neue Videos aus dem Segelflieger anschauen. Diese nehme hauptsächlich ich mit meiner GoPro Hero 3 White Edition auf. ;)

Very steady flight and the quality of the video was far more stable than I expected. I take it there was something under the GoPro to take out some of the vibration? Will be interested to see what difference the gimbal will make.

Could you give an estimate of the price you spent on the batteries, speed controllers, and the motors please? I wanted to build this, but the price on those seemed high. I was likely off on my price estimation however, as this will be my first RC model I build. Thanks!
Wer lange baut, hat wenig Flugerfahrung. Schöne Modelle aber auch mit Rücksicht auf den Wind, teils katastrophale schon im Anflug verkorkste Landungen.
